In today's world where the boundaries are shrinking and people are coming closer, mass communication is fast emerging as a lucrative area of work which provides adventure, thrill and knowledge coupled with handsome pay package and above all a sense of contentment. The career opportunities for those who want to pursue mass communication courses lies in every aspect of print and electronic media i.e. from being a journalist or a media planner to even a Video Jockey or a Copy Writer. Getting an employment after the successful completion of the course isn't that hard in a country like India, where the entertainment industry and the news corporations are on a new high due to the blooming economy. For those who do not want to commit themselves to a particular company or a corporation have the option of becoming a free lancer after the successful completion of the course. Many have a confusion regarding the differences between journalism and mass communication. There is a common perception that with a diploma or degree in later one can only become a journalist. It is absolutely wrong as this course horns up a student's skill for a work as varied as a Public Relation Officer of a company or a Copy Editor of a publishing house. The mass communication course in India is a paradigm shift in terms of normal courses provided by different Indian universities in which the emphasis is on theoretical studies and rot learning. Mass media is the term used for naming all the modes of the media like cinema, newspapers, television, radio, magazines, etc. These media makes aware the common people of any type of information.
