The National Institute of Mass Communication has been set up in collaboration with the Canadian Institute of Mass Communication, Ontario, Canada by Educational Media Research Society, New Delhi (a society registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860). The objective is to impart quality training to students in mass media so that they exploit media technology in the best possible manner and at the same time are able to keep pace with the fast-evolving communication industry.

Advertisement, Journalism and Master of Mass Communication, Advertisement, Journalism from Punjab Technical University (Recognized by University Grants Commission, Govt. of India) and Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, (In collaboration with International Institute of Professional Studies) ‘A’ Grade University accredited by NAAC which is also Recognized by University Grants Commission, Govt. of India. All these programmes are dual in nature – i.e. students will get a diploma from CIMC/NIMC in addition to the UGC recognized degree/diploma. The advantage of a double degree/diploma programme is that students get rigorous practical training besides a strong theoretical foundation.
About PTU
Punjab Technical University was established by an act of the State Legislature on 16th Jan 1997, to promote technical, management and pharmaceutical education in the state at the degree level and above.
The university has the mandate to set up Centres of Excellence in emerging technologies and for promoting training, research and development in these areas. The current focus of the university is to provide professional training to the masses.
The university has 425 learning centers spread across the country offering quality education in the field of Fashion and Beauty Technologies, Paramedical and Applied Technologies, Hotel Management and Tourism, Management, Media and Mass Communication & Journalism.
As of today, PTU affiliates more than 122 engineering, management, pharmacy, hotel management and architecture colleges in the state that are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). All courses are as per the university Grants Commission (UGC) nomenclature and guidelines referred to section 22(1) of UGC that make these courses internationally acceptable.
PTU is member of the Association of Indian universities (AIU) and also accredited by International University Accredited Association (IUAA) of USA.

The Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar was established on October 20, 1995 by an Act of Legislature of the State of Haryana with the objectives to facilitate and promote studies and research in emerging areas of higher education with focus on new frontiers of technology, pharmacy, environmental studies, non-conventional energy sources and management studies and also to achieve excellence in these and connected fields. It was formally inaugurated on November 1, 1995. It is named after Guru Jambheshwar Ji Maharaj, a saint environmentalist of the 15th century.
The University enjoys a rare distinction of getting recognized by the university grants commission under Section 2(f) for recognition of degrees on 11.1.1996 and under section 12(B) of the UGC Act to be eligible for central assistance on 7.2.1997, i.e., within 15 months of its coming into being. The University opted for accreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an autonomous organization of the University Grants Commission, in 2001-02. As a result on the exercise, the NAAC accredited this University with A level (institutional score 85%) among the Universities for a period of five-years beginning 2002-03.
