Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the significance of simultaneously having a diploma/degree
from a U.G.C. recognized University and CIMC, Canada? How is it going
to affect the students of National Institute of Mass Communication?
Ans.The
main motto of nimc is to impart practical training to its
students. Alongside, it will give you the required degree and diploma
from a U.G.C. recognized University, Govt. of India as well as from
CIMC,
Canada
that are essential in getting the job and placements apart from good
work experience. The diploma/degree from U.G.C. recognized university
is for students who would like to make India their working place, as
the most Indian employers prefer an Indian educational recognition.
Thus we follow the syllabus offered by the U.G.C. recognized
University, which is mostly theoretical, and involving little
practical training.
It is here that CIMC, Canada takes over and gives your syllabus a
practical turn by providing you hands-on training with
state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor production facilities. During the
course of the year, each student would be involved in two productions.
First 10 minutes’ studio based (multi-camera setup) and second, a
20-30 minutes’ documentary, EFP, on digital format (i.e. on broadcast
format). The cost of these two productions will be nothing less than 3
to 4 lakh rupees per student. Ease your nerves! Because this cost will
be incurred by nimc itself. Yes! the entire cost for each one
of you. The well-deserving productions would be show-cased in
Canada for the Indo-Canadian Festival.
On the basis of these two productions, CIMC Canada would accredit the
students with the Diploma. Hence covering the courses of U.G.C.
