The National Institute of Mass Communication has been set up in 2003 in collaboration with the Canadian Institute of Mass Communication, Ontario, Canada by Educational Media Research Society, New Delhi (a society registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860). The objective is to impart quality training to students in mass media so that they efficiently utilize media technology in the best possible manner to keep pace with the fast evolving communication industry.
We offer Bachelor of Mass Communication, Advertisement, Journalism, Diploma in Mass Communication, Advertisement, Journalism, Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication, Advertisement, Journalism and Master of Mass Communication, Advertisement, Journalism from Punjab Technical University, Mahatma Gandhi University and Himalayan University (Industry Integrated Programme) which are Recognized by University Grants Commission, Govt. of India.
I believe that my students should be well equipped with new skill-sets, innovative ideas and a heightened mental toughness to sail through the current turbulence in Media Industry. Hence, we aim at training versatile and innovative media professionals to cater the need of media ecology. NIMC provides a pedagogy that serves as an intermediary channel between students and latest dynamic media technology. At NIMC, our strategic focus is to address areas of curriculum designed practical training, exposure to all areas of Mass Communication and Journalism, soft skills, confidence building through Theatre and Production facilities for the students.
